Whether you are passing through or relocating, when you find that hidden gem, you almost don’t want to share it, but this one is just too good not too. While exploring my new local last year I stumbled across an alluring treasure called the Three Donkeys Home and Wholefood café in the beachside town of Wamberal, NSW (Australia).
This hidden treasure is run by two very talented entrepreneurs Jo and Roy Mussalli who set about following their passions and opened the Three Donkey Experience in 2017. Their philosophy is unique but simple; provides locals and tourists, an experience of eating well, living well and feeling well. Jo and Roy do this with love, dedication and a genuine concern for their customers wellbeing each and every day.
The experience is made up of two aspects that leave you with a sense of comfort. Great food and coffee in the café and the opportunity to take that feeling home through their lifestyle shop. Three Donkeys Home is such delight and catches your eye from the Central Coast highway with wicker baskets, stunning dried flowers and beautiful French style outdoor furniture on display outside.
As you step inside you are transformed into a world of beautiful homeware inspiration. From vintage, antique, new and eclectic furniture pieces drawing their inspiration from French styled homes and an element of farmhouse styles.
Jo is dedicated to supporting and stocking local artists and there are divine candles, beautiful range of locally sourced blooms, personalised signs, pottery and Australian fashion designers with luscious 100% linen pieces, suitable for the coastal style way of living. Plus, Italian made footwear, French jumpers amongst other products.
If you are looking for the best almond cappuccino and vegan desserts in particular their chocolate brownies Three Donkeys Whole Food café is the best.
The café is all about “heart-warming food”, using locally sourced and the freshest products available, notwithstanding the coffee, which is to die for. Being very particular about my coffee I know when I step inside to buy my coffee it will be delicious. There are many other treats to indulge in and the fridge is full of luscious raw treats and my favourite is the sticky date pudding and salted caramel sauce.
What makes The Three Donkey Experience stand out is truly its people from Jo and Roy through to their lovely staff who always make you feel so welcomed and special.
When visiting the Central Coast take time to visit and spoil yourself at Three Donkeys Home shop and Wholefood café, you will not be disappointed or if you are a local Central Coasti pop in to say “hi”.
